Alec Marianek, a native of Jacksonville, FL, began his dance training at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and Britney Boyd Dance Company. Marianek graduated cum laude from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX earning a BFA in Dance Performance with a minor in Arts Entreprenuership.
Marianek has performed works by renowned choreographers including Robert Battle, Paul Taylor, Martha Graham, Adam Hougland, Joshua Peugh, Pascal Rioult, Larry Keigwin, Brian Brooks, Stephanie Martinez, Michelle N. Gibson, and others. He has also trained at the Martha Graham School, American Dance Festival, b12 in Berlin, Houston Contemporary, and Dark Circles Contemporary Dance.
As he dances, Marianek is also developing his choreogaphic voice. His work Liquid Slow (2024) was presented at the South-Central American College Dance Association, and boiled down (2025) was featured at the inaugural Dallas Indie Dance Fest presented by Agorra Artists. He also was selected as an Emerging Choreographer for NewDANCEFest at Esienhower Dance Detroit.
